Transient Occupancy Tax

For the privilege of occupancy in any hotel, each hotel guest is subject to and shall pay a tax in the amount of 9.5% of the rent charged by the hotel operator.

No tax shall be imposed upon: any federal or state of California employee on official business provided the proper documentation is provided to the operator.
