Information:
The Personnel Board has power and is required to: (a) Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council and City Manager on personnel administration; (b) Hear appeals of any officer or employee in the Classified Service who is reclassified, suspended, demoted or removed, and report it's finding to the City Council and City Manager; (c) After a public hearing thereon, recommend to the City Council the adoption, amendment or repeal of the civil service rules and regulations; (d) Perform such other duties with reference to personnel administration, not inconsistent with the Charter, as the City Council may require by ordinance. (e) hears appeals of employee disciplinary actions;  (f) Reviews employee suggestions submitted through the Employee Suggestion Program.

The five-member advisory board, composed of three members representing the community and two members, are appointed by the City Council from those citizens nominated by City employees. The Board meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.
