The Library provides twenty-nine free, high-speed Internet computers for use by Library members. Internet users must abide by the Library's Internet Policy. Printing is available for a charge using the Library’s print/photocopy Vendcard system.
All Internet computers are equipped with:

Library Visitors (Ages 13 and Older)
The following resources are provided for library visitors ages 13 and older:

15-Minute Internet Computers (6 available)
Library Visitors (Ages 8-12)
Parental permission is required for children ages 8-12 to use the Internet in the Library. Please complete the Internet Permission Form and bring it to the Children's Information Desk to be kept on file for your child.
- Sign up at the Children’s Information Desk for one half-hour session per day.
- Present your Sunnyvale Library Card to obtain an appointment.
Library Visitors (Ages 7 and Younger)
Children ages 7 and younger are not eligible to have their own Internet sessions, but when appropriate, may share parents’ Internet sessions.
Printing From a Personal Computer
To print a document from a personal computer from any location either inside or outside the Library, follow these steps:
1. Visit www.printspots.com/library-sunnyvale
2. Select Use this Printer.
3. Under the heading Document or Web Page, select what is to be printed in one of two ways:
A. To print a Web-based document, copy the URL (Web address) and paste it here.
B. To print a document on your computer or other Internet-enabled device, select Browse and navigate to the document's location.
4. Under the heading, Enter Your Network ID for Document Pickup, enter a User ID of your choosing.
5. Select Next. Your print job will appear in the tracking center on the right.
6. Select Print. The message "Your document has been sent to the printer" will appear.
6. Visit the Pay for Print Station at the Library within 2 hours of sending the document for printing. The station is located in the Copy Room, to the right of the Adult Reference Desk.
7. To obtain the document from the Pay for Print Station, insert a vend card (on sale beside the Pay for Print Stations), and enter the User ID you selected for your print request. Prints are $0.15 each.
Word Processing for Children
Students in 8th grade and below may sign up at the Children's Information Desk for one hour per day on the Children's Word Processing PC, featuring Microsoft Word 2002.
Wi-Fi Access
Library visitors who bring a laptop computer have two Wi-Fi networks to choose from:

The "Sunnyvale_Library" wireless network through AT&T provides download speeds of up to 6 Mbps. Agreement to the Library's Wi-Fi policy is required to use this network.

The "MetroFi" wireless network provides downloads speeds up to 1 Mbps.
The wireless networks are free to all Library visitors. Speeds will vary depending on your location within the Library and the number of simultaneous users. Power outlets are available throughout the Library. Please remember to exercise courtesy when using your laptop or mobile device, turn sound off or use headphones at a low volume, and do not string a power cord across walking paths.
