The War of Mirrors by E.J. Stewart
Willie says: War breaks out in Larkwood when a mole forces some weasels to look at themselves in a mirror. They weren't quite ready to see themselves as they really were! The kingdom divides into two groups of animals, the Roots and the Twigs. In the end, the Prince of Acorns stops them from destroying one another.
This is one of the best books I have ever read! There are three big battles in all, and each battle ends in a unique, surprising way. No one dies. When creatures are wounded in battle they have to go to a sanatorium to recover!
The War of Mirrors makes us think about how to get along with one another. I rate it excellent!

Me, My Kid & HollyWeird: Adventures of a Kid Actor by Chartreuse and Gigi Braun
Synthia says: This book is great for families. Especially ones that include a teen or pre-teen. It is written by a 11 year old and her Mom. The child, Gigi is a kid actor and she and her mother moved from Florida all the way over to LA so that Gigi could act professionally. This book is based on the first six months of their life in a new place as written in their journals. You get to come inside the audition rooms and feel the pressure of memorizing 5 ages of dialogue in a half hour. This book ends up being about, not just acting though. It talks about family and life all together. For instace, if they are traveling you will hear about all of the cool places they are going. You will hear about who they met that day and what pops into their mind when writing in their everyday journal.
