Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law established in 1990 which protects the civil rights of people with disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities, and applies to employment, access to public places, and places of accommodation.

Advisory Committee on Accessibility

In December 2004, Council directed the creation of an Advisory Committee on Accessibility (ACA).  The City of Sunnyvale’s ACA advises and provides input to City staff on accessibility issues related to City services, programs and facilities.
