The City of Sunnyvale’s Child Care Advisory Board selected the recipients for the 2007 City of Sunnyvale Award for Excellence in Early Education. The annual awards recognize child care centers, preschools, licensed family child care providers and teachers in Sunnyvale who are committed to providing outstanding early education experiences for the children in our community. The 2007 recipients were:
School-Age Child Care Center: Cumberland Child Development Center/Cindy Lipp
Child Care Center or Pre-School Director: Community Pre-School
Pre-School/Child Care Center (Pre-School Age): Cupertino Co-Op Nursery School
Family Child Care Provider: Bonnie Hasson
Child Care or Pre-School Teacher: Community Pre-School - Room 7 Teachers
The City recognizes that high quality child care is an important part of a child’s social, physical, emotional and intellectual development and is an essential service for the children and families of our community. Excellent early education also has long-term academic, social and economic benefits, and builds the foundation for a child’s future success.
