Note: Temporary non-benefited casual/seasonal workers are limited to working no more than 1,000 hours or 6 months full-time in a fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
The Position: The City of Sunnyvale is seeking self-motivated, energetic, responsible individuals interested in working for the Youth and Teens Unit facilitating various classes for Elementary age youth or Middle School teens. It will be up to the instructor to develop and facilitate a curriculum and direction for the class. Hours and pay rate vary per assignment. Instructors must have professional experience in one or more of the following areas and have experience teaching classes to children or adults of all ages. We are currently looking for instructors in the following areas:
*Watercolor or Pastels *Arts & Crafts *Pottery/Clay
*Hip Hop/Break Dancing *Karate *Creative Writing
*Computers *Calligraphy *Other Special Interest
Essential Functions:
· Instruct youth in specific subject matter, in a fun, energetic and safe manner.
· Maintain, and store equipment and supplies
· Interact with children, parents, care givers, and City staff
· Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum age: 18 years old
· Paid or volunteer experience with youth or recreation programs is preferred.
· Must be available to work Monday through Friday between 2:00pm-6:00pm.
· Drug test, TB Test, and DMV background check required as a condition of employment.
