Oscar Reynolds & Karumanta
Magical Music from the Andes & Amazon
November 24, 2007
Let your mind drift with the shimmering music of Oscar Reynolds & Karumanta. The trio’s name means “from far away” in Quechua, the Incan language of Oscar Reynolds’ ancestors, and their music will transport you to Oscar’s native Bolivia for a musical tour of the country’s diverse regions and historical periods. Hear the influence of Spanish conquistadors, African slaves, even classic rockers. Oscar, best-known for his amazing ability to play pan flute and guitar simultaneously, performs with Afro-Peruvian drummer/dancer Lalo Izquierdo and charango virtuoso Jose Luis Reynolds.
