Sasha Dobson
Modern Romance
March 15, 2008
Chill out with up-and-coming jazz singer Sasha Dobson. Likening her sound to Norah Jones, Time Magazine declared her “worth a listen” with songs that “go down as easily as a frozen margarita,” and NPR predicted “amazing success ahead of her.” Sasha’s CD Modern Romance, released last year, includes both originals and unlikely covers, “Mood Indigo” by Duke Ellington, to “Modern Romance,” by the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. Sasha grew up in Santa Cruz, the daughter of a well-known Bay Area pianist, the late Smith Dobson, and singer and educator Gail Dobson.
