Senior Computer Classes

Computer Club
Computer Club General Meeting, held
on the second Friday of each month
from 9:30-11:30am, consists of short
talks by volunteer presenters and is based
on questions and comments from club
members at previous sessions. Time is
allowed for questions from the audience.

Investment Forum
These meetings will be forums where
members can share how they use
their computers to access investment
information, explain what they do, and
what expectations they have in their
investments. The purpose of the meetings
is to share and learn from each other and is
not an investment club. For meeting dates,

On-site computers with high speed Internet
access and assistance from our computer
volunteers in learning how to:
• use a computer • “Surf the Web”
• send and receive e-mails
• fill out an application on line
• really use your computer and have
all your questions answered

Intermediate PC Laptop
(XP or Vista Operating System)
A class for those who have
the XP/Vista Program and
would like to learn more on the following
topics: Create desktop shortcuts for any
file or Web site address; drag/drop any
file (create new); install/remove USB
flash drive; backup data/My Docs to a
Flash, external hard drive, or CD-RW;
disk cleanup/defragmenting or file check;
system restore; adding pictures/text to
e-mails; searching for and opening files;
Print Screen techniques; Live Mail; Google
Docs and sharing; XP and Vista backups;
MS Word techniques; Quick launch tray;
Task Manager; plus any subjects requested
by attendees.

students must bring their own laptop with XP/
Vista Operating System

PC Hardware

Explore the hardware of
a PC as we open up a PC
computer case and discuss
the various parts. You will
have the opportunity to
practice removing and
replacing hard drives,
memory cards, PCI cards,
and video cards. There will
also be a demonstration on
how to change the CMOS
settings that control the start-up. At this
time, we are developing an interest list
for this new class. Please call the Senior

the list.

Computer Club volunteers are
available to help members with

• Correcting hardware/software
problems
• Installing components
• Backing up files and folders
• Installing operating systems**
