Star Volunteer

A “STAR” VOLUNTEER: Margaret ARmstrong

Margaret has been one of our Star Volunteers for over 15 years. No matter where she works in our Senior Center she always brings her “SMILEY” face and her caring personality to share with everyone.
Margaret is with us every day helping out in the lunch program by checking guests in and at the blood pressure clinic where she records blood
pressure readings. Margaret is available wherever she is needed.
Much to our surprise, this sweet little lady has had an amazing career. During World War II she graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, as an aeronautical engineer going on to employment with TWA Airlines. Her family now consists of a daughter and very special adopted Russian granddaughter in St. Louis, and her son in Southern California, who when not busy with his windmills, sees that Magaret goes often to her favorite place—Hawaii. She has traveled extensively in Europe, New Zealand, United States, and Alaska. She feels she has been blessed with a good life and enjoys giving it back as a volunteer for the Sunnyvale Senior Center. Thank you for your dedication and many years of volunteer service at the Senior Center Margaret!
