The Department of Public Safety operates an Animal Control Unit to ensure the safety of Sunnyvale residents and animals.
The Animal Control Unit issues animal licenses, enforces animal related municipal codes, handles all lost or found pets, and loans humane traps free of charge to Sunnyvale residents for the purpose of trapping feral or nuisance cats.
