Substance abuse use among employees can effect job performance and effect absenteeism.  It can not only create a potential safety hazard, but also has the potential for significant financial liability to the employer.  Substance abuse has also led to employee theft, or embezzlement to pay for the cost of an ever increasing habit.  It is important to be aware of employee behavioral signs, and in particular changes in employee behavior and attitudes.
