Officers are available to meet with children in the classroom or other group setting.  For younger children this can be the first step in building a positive long term association with law enforcement.  For older children, this is an excellent way to build drug, gang, internet and violence awareness.

In City of Sunnyvale Schools*, officers are scheduled for appropriate topics on a grade by grade basis, throughout the year as follows:

Grades 1-8 (September) Assembly: Meet the Officer, Traffic Safety and Crossing Guard topics.

Grade 2 (March) - Fire Safety and Fire Rig Tour.

Grade 5 (October) - Drug Awareness.

Grade 6: (September) - Gang Awareness, (November) - Internet Safety

Grade 7 (May) - Domestic Violence

Grade 8 (February) - Rights and Responsibilities.

Grade 10 (April) - Reality Check

Grade 12 (June) - Sober Graduation
