Land Development Section

The Land Development Section of Public Work/Engineering is responsible for ensuring that new development projects comply with applicable regulations and provide the necessary public infrastructure including, but not limited to, streets, sidewalks, water, storm and sanitary sewers, streetlights and landscaping along street frontages, etc.

 

The Land Development Section reviews applications for Encroachment Permits, Subdivision Maps, Lot Line Adjustments and Street, Easement Vacations, etc.

 

The Land Development Section also maintains, updates and provides to the general public City records (bench marks, utility maps, subdivision maps, record of surveys, easement deeds, improvement plans, standard specifications and details, assessment districts, annexation maps, aerial photos, etc.).  The Land Development Section also assists the general public in identifying utility lines, property lines, etc.

Encroachment Permits

Any work performed in the public right-of-way (off-site) or in a public utility easement (P.U.E.) requires an Encroachment Permit, including work for various utility companies (PG&E, SBC, Comcast, California Water Company), fiber optics, monitoring wells, etc.
