Each year the City of Sunnyvale recognizes individuals and organizations in Sunnyvale that have made outstanding contributions toward the protection of the environment.

In 2005, a decade of environmental achievements  was recognized at a community event and art display held on Earth Day, April 22, at the Plaza del Sol in Sunnyvale.  

Green Business Recognition

Each year around Earth Day (April 22), the City of Sunnyvale recognizes businesses that have been certified through the Santa Clara County Green Business Program.  This program certifies businesses that comply with environmental regulations and exceed defined standards for energy conservation, water quality, pollution prevention and waste minimization.
