In recognition of their outstanding contributions to environmental protection, ten Sunnyvale residents were recognized by the Sunnyvale City Council at the annual Environmental Achievement Awards ceremony.

This year the City of Sunnyvale held an art contest with the theme "What I Love About Nature". Out of 70 participants, 10 were chosen for the 2002 Environmental Achievement Awards.
The winners were presented a certificate and live plant by The Honorable Mayor during the April 23, 2002 City Council Meeting.
