Residents in apartments--contact your property manager or owner, since each manager or owner will decide what process will be used at each site.

Property Managers or Owners

Multi-family Managers or Owners needing general information may call Specialty Customer Service at (408) 566-1800 for recycling options.

Multi-family Managers or Owners requesting a debris box may call the City of Sunnyvale, Utilities Division (Commercial Service) at (408) 730-7681 to place an order. Fifteen (15), 20 and 30 cubic yard debris boxes will be available at the regular rate.

Single-family Residents

Residents with single-family curbside service may put flocked and unflocked holiday trees at the curb on their regular garbage/recycling collection day on an ongoing basis.

Just follow these simple steps:

1. Remove tree stands, tinsel, and other decorations.

2. Cut the tree into four feet or shorter lengths.

3. Place the tree in your yard trimmings cart (tree must fit inside the cart with the lid closed), or beside your yard trimmings cart at the curbside.

Please note: Do not wrap tree in plastic.

What About Gift Wrap Recycling?

• Consider saving it to reuse.

• Or collect gift wrap in a brown paper bag. On garbage collection day, place paper bag in your garbage container. At the SMaRT Station®, the operator will sort the bags to separate recyclable gift wrapping paper.
