The City of Sunnyvale is within the Santa Clara Basin Watershed, which drains water through creeks and rivers to the South San Francisco Bay. Sunnyvale and the other agencies in this watershed that have responsibility for water quality are pursuing a regional or watershed approach to addressing issues. This means bringing all interested stakeholders together to discuss problems within the natural geographic framework in which they occur (a watershed). It is hoped that by working cooperatively, the most effective and efficient solutions can be developed.
