Cleanup Events

Neighborhood cleanup events are a partnership between the City (the Departments of Public Safety and Public Works) and neighborhood associations in an effort to clean up properties by getting rid of unused items and junk. These events are very popular with the community because not only do people get to dispose of unwanted items for free and make their properties look better, they often become social events with neighbors. Some neighborhoods even coordinate garage sales or donation collection campaigns around the cleanup events.

If you have household hazardous waste or electronic waste, take advantage of the household hazardous waste drop-off days for Sunnyvale residents. Household hazardous waste drop-off events are held on the third Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Limit is 5 gallons or 50 pounds per visit. Alternative drop-off locations are available by calling the Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste Program at (408) 299-7300. Keep a safer home and a safer community by using fewer hazardous products in your home and dispose of unwanted or outdated products safely and legally.
