Heart of the Valley, Services for Seniors, Inc. is non-profit 501 (c) (3) publicly – supported corporation committed to facilitating and supporting independent living for seniors residing in West Santa Clara Valley by offering services performed by dedicated volunteers. These services include mowing lawns and removing junk and debris.

The Council on Aging Silicon Valley is an independent non-profit organization and the state-designated Area Agency on Aging for Santa Clara County. Their mission is to improve the lives of older and disabled county residents and to help them remain in their chosen homes and communities.

Project Sentinel is a non-profit agency providing services to help people resolve housing problems. The agency assists home seekers as well as housing providers through counseling, complaint investigation, mediation, conciliation and education. The services are funded by cities and counties in the greater Bay Area and Central Valley. All services are free and confidential.
Rebuilding Together: (650) 366-6597
Rebuilding Together is a national non-profit with a network of nearly 225 affiliates across the United States. Volunteer programs provide repair services to elderly, disabled and low income homeowners in San Mateo and northern Santa Clara counties.
Sunnyvale Senior Center: (408) 730-7360
The City of Sunnyvale Senior Center offers a variety of member services, including referrals and resources to assist with improving the quality of life for senior residents.
Housing Rehabilitation Loans and Grants: (408) 730-7459
Housing rehabilitation loans and paint grants are offered through the City of Sunnyvale Housing Division:
- Paint Loans and Grants. The City will provide a loan of up to $4,000 for materials and labor to paint the exterior of a home, and will provide a list of approved painting contractors from which to obtain estimates.
- Low (3 %) interest home repair loans are offered to Sunnyvale residents with low to moderate income. These loans may be used to repair electrical, roofing, weather-proofing, kitchen remodeling, plumbing, heating, bath remodeling and structural reinforcement.
In addition to these resources, you may try contacting local church groups, your homeowner association or your neighborhood association.
