Library Outreach Services

What is S.O.S.?
Special Outreach Services (or S.O.S.), is a program designed to provide library material selection and delivery to readers who are homebound. Every month you can look forward to receiving a selection of books, audiobooks, large print books, picture books, compact discs or nonfeature videos.

Who is eligible the service?
Sunnyvale residents who are unable to travel to the Library because of age or physical disability are eligible.

How does it work?
On a regularly scheduled day each month, a Library staff member delivers a bag of books and other materials to your door. You return the previous month's selections when the staff delivers your new selections.

How does the Library know what I want?
Library staff will create a profile for you, based on your reading preferences and interests. A Library staff member or volunteer is then assigned to select materials based on your profile, making every effort to choose items that will suit your tastes.

How do I sign up?
