Borrowing an eReader

The Library has five Barnes and Noble NOOK Touch eReaders available for checkout. They each come pre-loaded with a wide selection of great titles in a variety of genres, including fiction, science fiction, romance, mystery, and non-fiction.

NOOKS can be checked-out for three weeks, and can be reserved through our library catalog -- just like printed books. A few things, however, are different.

  • NOOKS must be checked out at the information desk.
  • Borrowers must be at least 18 years of age and show both a Sunnyvale Library card and current photo ID.
  • Borrowers must read and sign the NOOK Lending Policy and Agreement before checking out an e-reader.
  • Each NOOK comes with its own carrying case and charger.
  • If a NOOK is overdue, late fees are thirty cents per day (up to $10). So please don't be late!

For the convenience of our patrons with vision challenges, we are also offering iPod touches with audiobook versions of select titles available on Library NOOKS.

This program was made possible through a generous grant from the Satterberg Foundation. We hope you enjoy your eReader experience.
