Lending Machine Opens at Columbia Neighborhood Center
A library material lending machine has been installed in the lobby of the Columbia Neighborhood Center at 785 Morse Ave. in Sunnyvale. The lending machine serves as a mini, free-standing library for residents who find this location more convenient and accessible than the central library facility in Sunnyvale. The collection of books feature literacy and language development materials for 0-5 year olds as well as parenting materials in English and Spanish. A return bin is located adjacent to the machine to return any materials borrowed from the machine or from the main library. Machine users can borrow items with a Sunnyvale Public Library card. Library cards are free and can be obtained from Columbia Neighborhood Center staff. The machine was made possible by grants from First 5 Santa Clara County and the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library. Read more about the lending machine.
City of Sunnyvale Mayor Anthony Spitaleri, Department of Library and Community Services Director Lisa Rosenblum, and First 5 Santa Clara County CEO Jolene Smith cut the ribbon on the library lending machine at Columbia Neighborhood Center on June 3, officially opening the machine for public use.
