  • Kugelplex – Klezmers Coming to Town: 8 p.m., Sunnyvale Theatre, 550 E. Remington Drive. Part of the 2007-08 Evenings of Cultural Arts series, Kugelplex lights up the holidays with something decidedly different from the candy cane music of the season. This well-respected young band follows in the footsteps of itinerate Yiddish musicians, or klezmers, who wandered Eastern Europe’s cities and countryside, playing dance music for weddings and festivals. Their repertoire is rooted in the Old World, but the group offers plenty of modern surprises, too. They’ve performed Handel’s Messiah, Klezmer-style, with the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and their song “Rudolph’s Mitzvah” was a Hanukkah hit last year. Ticket Prices: $25 general admission, $20 students and seniors with ID. Season ticket packages start at $68. Group sales discounts will also be available.
