Sunnyvale Establishes "WALL OF HONOR"
City Council Honors Sunnyvale’s Military Members
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale City Council will pay tribute to Sunnyvale residents serving in the military by inviting families to post photographs on a Wall of Honor.
The Wall of Honor is located within the City Council Chambers. Photographs of Sunnyvale residents serving in the military as well as active-duty military personnel who are immediate relatives of Sunnyvale residents will be eligible to be placed on the wall.
Photographs may be submitted electronically by e-mail or may be dropped off at City Hall. E-mails should be sent to honor@ci.sunnyvale.ca.us and photographic prints may be either mailed or dropped off at the Office of the City Manager, Communications Division, ATTN: Wall of Honor, 603 All America Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94088. Photographs cannot be returned and all photographs and e-mails should provide the complete name, rank and branch of service of the military member. For electronic submissions, please call the Sunnyvale Communications Division at (408) 730-7535 for specifications. The City of Sunnyvale will reserve the right to determine if a picture is appropriate for display.
Kinkos, located at 598 East El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, will allow residents to scan a photo for the Wall of Honor at no cost or, if staff assistance is required, a special discounted rate will be charged for the service. Simply tell the Kinkos staff that the scan is for the Sunnyvale Wall of Honor.
The Sunnyvale City Council voted unanimously to establish the Wall of Honor as a means of paying tribute to Sunnyvale residents who may be in harm’s way serving overseas. The City Council will acknowledge new postings to the Wall of Honor at each regular City Council session.
