Sunnyvale to Host Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for Burn Victims
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) will raise money for burn prevention and awareness when they host the fifth annual Community Pancake Breakfast and Safety Fair. On Saturday, October 11, 2003 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., DPS firefighters will cook and serve an old-fashioned pancake breakfast for the community at Sunnyvale’s Fire Station 2.
In addition to the pancakes, residents will have a chance to meet DPS officers, see K-9 units in action, tour a fire station and see fire engines and a Life Flight helicopter up close.
Donations of $5 for adults and $3 for children are encouraged. Proceeds go to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, which works in partnership with firefighters, educators and burn care professionals to provide burn prevention and survivor assistance services throughout California. At last year’s Pancake Breakfast, Sunnyvale DPS raised more than $3,600 for the foundation.
Fire Station 2 is located at 795 E. Arques Avenue at Wolfe Road. More information on the Pancake Breakfast is available by contacting the Department of Public Safety’s Crime Prevention Unit at (408) 730-7140. For TDD, call (408) 730-7501.
