WITNESSES SOUGHT TO SERIOUS TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking witnesses to a Wednesday morning accident which injured two pedestrians, one critically.
The accident occurred at 8:23 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, at the intersection of Remington and Manet Drives in Sunnyvale. According to DPS investigators, a red Honda was turning right from eastbound Remington onto southbound Manet when the pedestrians, one of whom was using a walker, were struck. The pedestrians were identified as 68 year-old Appaso Khot and Gangubai Khot, both Sunnyvale residents. Both were transported to Stanford Medical Center where Appaso Khot was taken into surgery for critical head injuries.
The driver of the automobile was identified as Phani Koganti, a 27 year-old Sunnyvale resident. The driver has not been cited, pending the outcome of the investigation.
The accident is being investigated by the Sunnyvale DPS Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact Traffic Officer Curtis Barba or Lt. Walter Lee at (408) 730-7109.
