NEW SUNNYVALE COUNCILMEMBERS TO TAKE OFFICE NOVEMBER 25
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale City Council will seat its four newest members at its regular meeting on November 25. The ceremony – originally scheduled for November 18 – has been rescheduled because the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters has yet to certify the November election.
The Council will also select the next Mayor and designate a Vice Mayor at the November 25 meeting. The ceremonial swearing-in of the Mayor and Vice Mayor had been planned for the week following the inauguration, but due to the delay, the Council will decide at its November 18 meeting whether to schedule the swearing-in at the November 25 meeting.
The Sunnyvale City Council is composed of seven councilmembers elected at large for up to two four-year terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are selected from among the ranks of the Council and serve for one-year terms. The Council meets most Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in Sunnyvale City Hall, 456 W. Olive Ave.
