SUNNYVALE HIRES INTERIM CITY CLERK
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The City of Sunnyvale has appointed Cathleen McKay to the post of interim City Clerk. McKay joined the City on July 21, and will fill the position while the City conducts a recruitment process for a permanent City Clerk.
McKay served as City Clerk for the City of Ukiah for eight years and as interim City Clerk for the cities of Menlo Park and Redwood City. She is a certified advanced Master Municipal Clerk (MMC), as designated by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
"We are fortunate to be able to welcome Cathleen onto our staff," said City Manager Robert S. LaSala. "The City Clerk is an important element of effective city government, and I’m confident that Cathleen will fill that role well."
McKay replaces former City Clerk Susan Kitchens, who left the City after nearly two years in the position.
