SUNNYVALE CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FILINGS
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – A total of eight candidates have filed to run for Sunnyvale City Council seats in the November 2003 election. The deadline for candidate filing was 5 p.m., Friday, August 8.
Of the seven Council positions, seats four, five and six are open due to incumbents in these seats reaching their maximum terms; the first term for seat seven is expiring allowing candidates to run for this seat. While Sunnyvale City Council members are elected to specific seats, they serve at large, representing the entire City. Candidates are elected for a four-year term and may then run for one additional four-year term.
