SUNNYVALE HOSTS TENTH ANNUAL BASKETBALL SHOOTOUT
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Seventh and eighth graders from throughout Sunnyvale will shoot for top honors at the Tenth Annual Basketball Shootout, Friday, February 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Columbia Neighborhood Center, 785 Morse Ave., Sunnyvale. This event, a collaborative effort between the Department of Public Safety and the Parks and Recreation Department, offers seventh and eighth grade students an opportunity to compete in a positive, healthy environment.
Community members are invited to show their support for the nearly 130 participants as they compete in the finals. The evening kicks off with a "celebrity" shootout featuring City of Sunnyvale dignitaries. Finalists will compete in four divisions – Girls Seventh Grade, Girls Eighth Grade, Boys Seventh Grade and Boys Eighth Grade. The two best shooters for each division will take home a U.S. Savings Bond and a new basketball.
