SUNNYVALE NAMES INTERIM CITY MANAGER

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale City Council has named Amy Chan Interim City Manager. Chan, a long-time City official, has most recently served as Assistant City Manager. When former City Manager Robert LaSala was placed on administrative leave last December, Chan assumed the role of Acting City Manager, fulfilling the responsibilities of the city’s top executive. The appointment of Chan as Interim City Manager more accurately defines and clarifies her direct reporting role to the City Council.

In a related action at last night’s (Tuesday, March 2) City Council meeting, Mayor John Howe appointed an ad hoc committee to begin the process of searching for a new City Manager. The committee will report back to the Council with its recommendations on how to proceed with the recruitment and hiring of a new city manager.
