Burglary Conviction Follows Tips

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) made a public appeal earlier this year (Sunnyvale News Release 02-05, February 12, 2004) for public assistance in solving a rash of burglaries occurring on the City’s south side.

Following up on several tips called in to DPS, officers arrested Sam Saephanh, 25, of Oakland. He was charged by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and was convicted of six counts of burglary.

"The City of Sunnyvale is rated as one of the ten Safest Cities in America," observed Mayor John Howe. "The continuing partnership between residents and DPS is a key element in maintaining Sunnyvale’s safe environment, and we want to thank those members of the community who stepped forward to assist in our investigation."
