SUNNYVALE PUTS HEALTH, SAFETY ON DISPLAY
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The City of Sunnyvale continues a long tradition of caring for the well-being of its residents with the fifth annual Health & Safety Fair. The City has teamed up with local organizations to inform and educate area residents about health, safety and community services. With an emphasis on fun and participation, the free event will showcase a variety of exciting and engaging activities for the entire family. This year’s fair will be on Saturday, May 22, at the Columbia Neighborhood Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Free health screenings, including hearing, cholesterol and diabetes testing, will be provided by on-site health services exhibitors. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety will be on hand to give police and fire demonstrations. There will also be fingerprinting stations, defibrillator demonstrations, bicycle safety inspections and a bicycle helmet fitting station, among many other health and safety exhibits.
One of the most exciting attractions will be the return of the Southern California-based Perfection on Wheels BMX stunt team. This nationally-acclaimed team spins, glides, rolls and hops their BMX bikes through a 40-minute program that entertains while promoting safe riding and a drug-free lifestyle.
