FREE SUMMER BOWLING PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety has joined five area police agencies in distributing free summertime bowling passes to students in
11 school districts. Palo Alto Bowl (4329 El Camino Real, Palo Alto) is offering the program to all students in Sunnyvale schools and many other school districts.
“We want to provide kids with a safe and fun activity during the summer,” said
Palo Alto Bowl Manager Harvey King. “We want to keep the kids off the street and give them a place to go this summer where their parents won’t need to worry.”
King estimates nearly 50,000 passes will be distributed to students before the start of summer and believes as many as 2,500 students may take part in the free program. The pass, which students must present each time they wish to bowl, entitles the student to a free game of bowling, a free bowling shoe rental and discounted additional games … every day through the end of August. In addition, students will receive a packet with information, food and drink discount coupons and discounts on future bowling games.
The program is being offered at no cost to the students, schools or city governments.
