SUNNYVALE SPONSORS NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT OUT

SUNNYVALE, Calif. –  Sunnyvale residents will join thousands of communities nationwide celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3. Sponsored by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, the event encourages residents to turn on porch lights, close their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors.

The event will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and neighborhoods are encouraged to plan and host events such as barbecues, ice cream socials or block parties. Officers from Sunnyvale’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) are available to visit with neighborhoods to discuss fire safety and crime prevention. Neighbors that know each other look out for each other, and that helps prevent crime.
