SUNNYVALE SETS LOW-COST RABIES VACCINATION CLINIC

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The City of Sunnyvale will join with Humane Society Silicon Valley to offer a low-cost rabies and vaccination clinic for Sunnyvale dogs and cats. All dogs more than four months old are required to have current rabies vaccinations and be licensed.

The clinic will be held 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Humane Society Silicon Valley clinic, 2530 Lafayette St., Santa Clara, on Saturday, August 21. This facility is at the intersection of Lafayette and Martin.

Sunnyvale Animal Control Officer Michelle Morgan reminds residents this is a convenient way to protect your animals. “Residents can get their animals vaccinated and licensed all at one time,” she said. “We also can take care of other vaccinations  your pet may need and can microchip the animal to aid in its return home if it is ever lost.” Rabies vaccinations at the clinic are $6. Licensing fees vary by length of license term and whether the animal is a dog or cat. Substantial discounts to licensing fees are given for altered animals with proof of spay or neuter surgery.

When attending the clinic, all dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. No appointment is necessary and for more information, call Sunnyvale Animal Control at (408) 730-7178, TDD (408) 730-7501.
