ARRESTS MADE IN SUNNYVALE DOUBLE MURDER
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers have made four arrests in connection with last night’s (Tuesday, October 12) shooting that left two men dead.
At approximately 8 p.m. last night, Sunnyvale police, fire and medical teams responded to a call of two men down at Lakewood Elementary School, near the intersection of Lakechime and Meadowlake. First arriving units found two males, later identified as Carlos Walker (DOB 1/19/79) and Christopher Herrador (DOB 9/18/79) both residents of Sunnyvale, on the ground, apparent victims of gunshot wounds.
Medical aid was provided, however both men were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Investigation has revealed that prior to the shooting a group of men and women met at the school to settle a conflict involving one of the victims. At this time, the homicides do not appear to be random or related to gang or drug violence. Four suspects are now in custody and the investigation continues on what appears to be a crime related to a domestic dispute.
“Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety officers responded very quickly to this serious crime, and I find it impressive that they have been able to make a number of arrests this morning,” said Sunnyvale Mayor John Howe. “Our officers have again demonstrated their tough stance against crime in our City and the reason why Sunnyvale continues to be one of America’s ten safest cities.”
