SUNNYVALE NAMES NEW CITY MANAGER
AMY CHAN WILL CONTINUE TO RUN CITY
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Amy Chan has been named Sunnyvale City Manager in a unanimous vote by the Sunnyvale City Council. The vote took place at this evening’s (Tuesday, November 9) regular Council meeting.
Chan has been Interim City Manager since Robert LaSala left the position earlier this year. Chan, who began her career with the City of Sunnyvale in the finance department, has been with the City for more than two decades.
The move to make Chan the City Manager came shortly after Council completed her performance review, during which they were able to assess nearly a year’s worth of effort by Chan at running the second-largest city in the county.
“Amy’s performance thus far has been outstanding,” said Mayor John Howe. “When we saw how much progress she has made and the tremendous positive influence she has had on staff and the City as a whole, we knew she was the right person to become our City Manager. Amy’s long history with the City ensures continuity and reconfirms that Sunnyvale is a well-managed City with a bright future.”
