SUNNYVALE ”STATE OF THE CITY” CELEBRATION JULY 4
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale’s Washington Park will once again come alive with music, food and fun as Mayor Dean J. Chu and the Sunnyvale City Council present the 2005 State of the City celebration, Monday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to Mayor Chu’s State of the City address, the mayor and City Council will present awards to outstanding members of the Sunnyvale community, including Businessperson of the Year, High School Senior of the Year, and Distinguished Citizen of the Year.
“Our annual State of the City celebration is an important community event in Sunnyvale,” said Chu. “It’s a time for everyone in our community to come together, celebrate our successes, honor our outstanding residents and look forward to the future.”
The event features a $1 barbeque lunch, a Dixieland band, face painting, a bounce house and information booths staffed by City departments. Last year’s celebration brought more than 1,000 celebrants to Washington Park.
