SUNNYVALE MAKES ARREST IN MURDER CASE –ADDITIONAL SUSPECT STILL SOUGHT

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – An arrest was made early Friday morning in the July 12 shooting death of 18-year old Sunnyvale resident Cephus Brown and the critical wounding of a second victim. Eric Pape, a 19-year old San Jose resident, was arrested for murder in connection with the shooting.

Investigators are still seeking Bryson Cole, a 19-year old Los Gatos resident. Cole is described as being Caucasian, 6’ 1” tall, 165 pound with brown hair and blue eyes. He is wanted on a felony murder warrant and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding Cole’s whereabouts is asked to call Detective Eric Suzuki at Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Investigations Bureau at (408) 730-7110.

Investigators this weekend recovered a weapon they believe was used in the original crime.

The shooting, which took place around 4 a.m. at Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road and Harwick Way, was Sunnyvale’s second murder of 2005. The investigation into this crime is continuing.
