SUNNYVALE RESIDENTS GIVE CITY HIGH MARKS IN SATISFACTION SURVEY
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale residents have once again given high marks to their city in Sunnyvale’s biennial Resident Satisfaction Survey. Among key findings are the fact that residents cite overall high marks for Sunnyvale as a place to live, high marks for the quality of services provided by the City and high marks for safety in their City.
The survey found key strengths in
Sunnyvale’s public safety, parks and recreation facilities, and Library services. Ninety-four percent of survey respondents said they felt safe in Sunnyvale, with 94 percent commenting positively on emergency medical response times; 89 percent gave the nod to Sunnyvale parks maintenance; and 86 percent gave favorable ratings to Library services.
Perhaps most importantly, 89 percent gave positive marks to the state of City services and 94 percent think highly of Sunnyvale as a place to live. And even at a time when City budgets have curtailed some service levels, 88 percent of those who had made inquiries at City Hall were satisfied with how their inquiries were handled.
Sunnyvale residents rate their satisfaction with services, such as public libraries, police, fire and emergency services, and reliability of traffic signals, with greater levels of satisfaction than residents of other cities around the nation.
The biennial telephone survey was conducted by Northwest Research Group, an independent research firm, to measure resident’s opinions on a wide variety of subjects related to Sunnyvale government services and life in Sunnyvale. The City routinely commissions these surveys as a tool in monitoring and improving services to the community.
