NEW SUNNYVALE COUNCIL SWORN IN
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale City Council last night (November 29) welcomed two new members to its ranks, swore in a returning colleague and bid farewell to two councilmembers who had served for nearly a decade. New councilmember Anthony (Tony) Spitaleri (Seat 1) and Christopher R. Moylan (Seat 2) were sworn in at the meeting, replacing Fred Fowler and Julia Miller, each of whom had served two four-year terms. Councilmember John Howe, who was elected to a second four-year term in November, was also sworn in.
Following the installation of Ron Swegles as Mayor and Otto Lee as Vice Mayor, the Council is now arranged as follows:
· Mayor Ron Swegles (Seat 6)
· Vice Mayor Otto Lee (Seat 5)
· Councilmember John Howe (Seat 3)
· Councilmember Dean Chu (Seat 4)
· Melinda Hamilton (Seat 7)
· Anthony (Tony) Spitaleri (Seat 1)
· Christopher R. Moylan (Seat 2)
The Council is composed of seven councilmembers elected at large for up to two four-year terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are selected from among the ranks of the Council and serve one-year terms. The Council meets most Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. in Sunnyvale City Hall, 456 W. Olive Ave.
