SUNNYVALE COUNCIL AGENDAS NOW AVAILABLE EARLIER

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — In an effort to allow for more community input to Sunnyvale City Council deliberations, meeting agendas are now available a day earlier. Historically Council meeting agendas were posted in public places, on the City’s Web site – www.sunnyvale.ca.gov – and on KSUN-15 by the end of the Friday preceding a Tuesday meeting. The information will now be available late Thursday.

Council established a six-month pilot program to test the earlier posting, after which it will be evaluated and considered as an ongoing practice. Concerns had been brought to Council’s attention that the Friday postings did not leave businesses, neighborhood groups and concerned individuals enough time to research a topic coming before Council. Additionally, Council wanted to ensure there was enough time for community members to get together with each other to jointly address Council on an issue. The new, earlier posting will provide the agenda three full business days – plus the weekend – prior to a regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

The Sunnyvale City Council meets at 7 p.m. most Tuesdays in the City Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Ave.
