FREE WIRELESS ACCESS COMES TO SUNNYVALE LIBRARY

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Getting on the Web just got easier for patrons of the Sunnyvale Public Library. MetroFi, Inc. is now providing free wireless Internet access at the Library. MetroFi, which is already providing free wireless access to residents of Sunnyvale and in the downtown business area, installed three transmitters atop streetlight poles in the area surrounding the Library.

In response to requests for the service from Library patrons, the Sunnyvale City Council approved the installation in late July. “The Library serves as an important tool in promoting an informed community,” Sunnyvale Mayor Ron Swegles said. “MetroFi’s expansion of free wireless access to cover the Library enhances the community’s ability to access knowledge and information.”

MetroFi is currently working with City staff to deploy additional transmitters to bring free wireless access to City Hall.

The Library is located at 665 West Olive Ave., across from City Hall. Free parking is always available, and VTA line 54 serves the Library. More information on Library programs and activities is available on the Library’s Web site at www.sunnyvalelibrary.org, or by calling the reference desk at (408) 730-7300, TDD (408) 730-7501. More information about MetroFi is available at www.metrofi.com.
