SUNNYVALE PUBLIC SAFETY OPENS RECRUITMENT
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS), the nation’s most dynamic, fully-integrated municipal Public Safety organization, is looking for success-oriented men and women. DPS will open a recruitment for Public Safety Officers-In-Training (PSOIT) beginning Friday, September 1 through Friday, September 29.
Sunnyvale’s Public Safety Officers are fully trained as police officers and firefighters and perform both duties on a rotating basis. Upon hiring, PSOITs attend a police academy, fire academy, EMT academy, and complete a field training program. Sunnyvale offers officers an attractive benefits package, including comprehensive medical, optical and dental coverage, education incentives, bilingual pay and more. During academy training, officers receive a salary of $72,990. Once on the job, salaries can rise to a top level of $105,019.
Applicants must be at least 21 at time of appointment, possess 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college, be in excellent health and have no felony or certain misdemeanor convictions.
