SUNNYVALE SEEKS NEW MEMBER FOR ACCESSIBILITY COMMITTEE
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Sunnyvale community members now have the opportunity to help City staff identify and address accessibility issues in Sunnyvale. The Advisory Committee on Accessibility (ACA), made up of five members of the community, meets four times each year to advise City staff on the effectiveness of City policies, services, programs and facilities related to accessibility, review construction and renovation plans for public facilities, and help to develop and maintain lines of communication with community members with disabilities.
There is currently one vacancy on the ACA, and the City is seeking interested members of the community to apply for this seat. ACA members include Sunnyvale residents with disabilities and their family or caregivers, staff members of agencies serving the needs of Sunnyvale residents with disabilities, and experts in subjects relevant to the disabled community in Sunnyvale. The expected time commitment is 12 – 16 hours per year.
The committee member will be appointed by Sunnyvale’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator.
