SUNNYVALE, Calif. – “Inspire Your Child to Read,” a literacy workshop, will be presented at Sunnyvale Public Library, Tuesday, October 10. The 90-minute workshop features Cindy Thomas, a former elementary school teacher, who will demonstrate the latest techniques for teaching literacy skills to young children in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Children’s literature and games will be read and demonstrated throughout the presentation, and each attendee will be given a packet full of reading and writing ideas to share with children. Sponsored by the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library, this free workshop is for parents and caregivers of children ages 1 to 7; children should not be brought to this workshop.
