SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The City of Sunnyvale has opened a recruitment for new board and commission members. Currently there are a total nine openings in six boards and commissions. Board and commission members are volunteers who serve in an advisory role to the City Council.
The City is seeking one new member in each of the following boards and commissions: Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Board of Library Trustees, Heritage Preservation Commission; and two new members for the Board of Building Code Appeals, Housing and Human Services Commission, and Personnel Board. Applicants for the Personnel Board must be nominated by a City employee or employee association.
Board and commission members are appointed by City Council. In some cases, special requirements or qualifications must be met to be eligible for a board or commission, such as residency, voter registration or professional experience.
